Organic Hay SORRY Due To High Demand All Our Anticipated Bales For 2021 Are Reserved
IHere at EZ stable we are proud to produce a small quantity of Organic Hay specifically harvested to be the best possible for Equines. The land the hay is made on is in the rolling Shropshire Countryside and has been grassland for the last 30 years. Over the first part of winter the fields are often grazed by sheep but from Christmas on are left without stock on them. this allows grass to slowly appear from a strong root structure, reducing the stress on the grass in the spring and so reducing the sugar levels.
Harvest
We only take one cut per year off our fields, leaving it till Late August before cutting, allowing the grass to go to seed and a lot of the WSC (water soluble carbohydrates) to reduce.

Making Our Hay
The grass is cut very early in the morning (dawn) to ensure lowest possible sugar levels
It is then immediately spread and then regularly turned. turning which is often done 3 times a to ensure even drying is done with a small turner ensuring no swath is missed (as often happens with large equipment.
The Result

Small bales of about 16 Kg each

All have lowest possible sugar levels

Almost all is sold locally and can be stored in one of our barns for you to collect as you need it.
